How to Make a Custom Deck Box With Your Own Artwork
Print resolution, safe margins and wrap edges: the checklist for turning your own art into a deck box that looks sharp on every side.
A deck box is a printed wrap around a hard shell, which means the artwork bends around corners. Designing for that from the start is the difference between a clean box and one with a logo folded over an edge.
Resolution first
Work at the largest size you can and avoid upscaling. Anything that looks soft on screen at full size will look soft in print.
Keep detail off the corners
- Leave a clear margin so nothing important sits on a fold.
- Backgrounds and textures can run to the edge. Faces, text and logos should not.
- Design the front, back and spine as one continuous image, not three separate crops.
Pick the size before the artwork
Boxes sized for 100 or more sleeved cards and 130 or more sleeved cards have different proportions, so choose the capacity first and lay the art out to suit it.
